Installation guide for photowalls

Check so you have enough wall space to fit the photowall before you place the order. They are sold in complete sets, no separation is possible.

The designs are made in order to easily be fit in smaller walls if necessary. Just remove the obsolete parts with a sharp knife, the design won't get ruined by trimming excess parts.

Here is some examples of our solutions:

4 paneler

A half-size (194x274cm) photowall consisting of 4 sections. Note the numeric order.
4 paneler panorama

A half-size (388x137cm) lenghtway-photowall consisting of 4 sections.
8 paneler

A full-size (388x274cm) photowall consisting of 8 sections, installed according to image. Note the numeric order.

photowalls installation

Tools required: measuring tools, drawing tools (ruler, plumb line or twine with weight or similar) common tapestry tools like knife, brush, sponge, eventually you'll need screwdrivers to dismount wall installations.
We recommend that several people help out with the installation procedure.

Control measure the wall size and prepare it by removing previous wallpapers and make sure the surface is somewhat clean. Any eventual unevenness should be filled with putty before the installation. For best results we recommend you to have the baseboards removed during the procedure.

Check the layout of your set, and if there are any guidelines on the photowalls that specifies how much the layers should be overlapping eachoter. It should be about 3mm (1/8") on the vertial seam and 6mm (1/4") on the horizontal seam. This is so the image won't get torn apart in case the wallpapers change size after the glue has dried.

The photowalls are fragile, careless management can cause permanent convolusions (just like with any poster).

Imagine how the photowall will be fit on the wall and approximate locations for the different sections. Check so there aren't any grave misprints (errors in colors or shades) on any of the sections before you start.

Prepare the glue and wait for 10-20 minutes. The temperature in the room should be about +20C and there should be no drafts.

You need a guide line to know you're placing the section properly. To get exact coordinates you can use a line with a weight or similar equipment.

Apply glue on section 1 and put it in the down left corner. Make sure it's properly adjusted according to the guide line. If you are several, one person can look from a distance and instruct adjustments.

Do not strech the sections during the procedure. It can result in distortions.

When you glue the wallpaper, air might get stuck behind. The air can cause visual air bubbles, and to prevent this from happening make sure you brush the surface carefully, and make the tapestry procedure in a smooth manner to make sure most of the air bubbles are wiped off. If you should screw it up completely, remove the section gently by lifting the corners, apply new glue without streching the section.

All the bubbles are not avoidable but most straighten out when the paper gets dry.

Continue with the same procedure with all the bottom sections. If you have a design consisting of several rows you start over from left when the bottom row is finished, placing the section above the first.

When all the sections are installed, remove excessive moist from the wallpaper with a sponge or cloth, trim excess parts with a knife and replace any removed baseboards.

Done, you can start slacking.
